Research

We explore the properties, structure and activity of neuronal circuits and networks in brain and spinal cord in neurodegeneration (mainly motoneuron disease) and in other related neurological conditions such as traumatic brain injury. We exploit cutting edge viral vectors, genetic and chimica-genetic approaches, transgenic models to control and manipulate neuronal and non-neuronal components of neuronal networks in brain and spinal cord structures.

We exploit a similarly large array of technologies to study how neuronal network structure and function (and their pathological modifications) affect the onset, the propagation, the progression and the associated features (such as inflammation) of neurodegenerative conditions and related disorders.
